About Dusty Nabor Wines

Founded in 2015, Dusty Nabor Wines is a boutique producer of Santa Barbara County Wines located in a humble industrial section of Camarillo Ca. Striving to produce site-specific wines with as minimal intervention as possible. Currently sourcing from the Sta Rita Hills AVA, Ballard Canyon AVA, Los Olivos District AVA and Happy Canyon AVA. Varieties include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Grenache, Syrah, Viognier and Cabernet Sauvignon. Most wines consist of single variety and single vineyard bottlings. The goal with the wines is to preserve the conduit and reflection of the people, places and vintages that create them. Hoping to convey the many unique personalities and natural phenomena that go into the farming and winemaking of every cluster of grapes and bottle of wine produced. The wines are allocated first to the mailing list and then to the general public if available.

About the Winemaker

Dusty was born and raised in Southern California where he still resides. Often referred to as a "Renaissance Man" due to his "unquenchable curiosity" and habit for taking on new challenges every few years. But Dusty doesn't just dabble. He takes his curiosities to very high levels in everything he does. Growing up was a typical Southern California affair. He started with skateboarding which quickly turned to surfing and surfing competitions taking him through his teens. After that came motocross and off-road racing. Dusty earned a professional motocross license in 1998 and continued to race into the early 2000's before realizing being hurt all the time was not a realistic option. So he moved to other endeavours including poker, car racing and then golf. Reaching professional levels in poker and auto racing but remaining a 2 handicap golfer at the amatuer level. In 2009 he realized these three activities were not physically active enough for his type A personality. That's when his love for endurance sports spawned. Taking up triathlon and swim/bike/run training and racing as a full-time passion. This is also where Dusty met Karin Langer, his life partner and curator of Bolt To Wines. Karin and Dusty shared the passion for triathlon and became acquainted with each other by being members of the same nationwide triathlon team. Over the last 13 years, Dusty has competed at a very high amateur level in triathlon having won several age group awards as well as qualifying and competing in 2 Ironman 70.3 World Championships and qualifying but not competing in the coveted Ironman World Championship in Kona Hawaii. Which brings us to wine. The reason Dusty did not compete in Hawaii is that the race took place in October. Which is when harvest takes place. Dusty had to decide which took precedence, competing at the World Championship or making wine. He chose wine.

Dusty has been a wine enthusiast since he was able to legally drink. In 2015 his "unquenchable curiosity" got the better of him and he decided to find out how wine was made and what he needed to do in order to make it himself. You'll notice that through all these endeavors, school was never mentioned. Dusty only attended a couple of semesters of college and dropped out to pursue his professional career at his family's steel business which he still works at to this day, 30 years later. Dusty found a custom crush locally and started making wine there. In 2017 when the wines were first released they were met with great reception and quickly sold out. He hasn't looked back since. He now has his own winery space in Camarillo Ca where he is still the sole employee making the wines. His sole focus is to keep learning and striving to make the wines better with each vintage.

It should also be mentioned that both Karin and Dusty are avid animal lovers and supporters of many animal research institutions and rescues throughout California. You will often see their pride and joy, Ronan Feral, on many of their social media posts. Ronan is a Nebelung cat rescue from the streets of Los Angeles.
